| Welcome to Rolling Thunder Nursery, a magical place where all shapes and forms of unusual and rare plants grow and flourish. Take a tour of all our areas, from the tropical rain forests of South America and Indonesia to the great Mojave Desert. Also, don't go so fast you miss the gift store on the way. The gift store is packed with unusual and special items just perfect for the gardener or for that special person in your life. In the nursery you will find palm trees, cycads, agaves, ferns and numerous tropical plants and semi tropical plants. Many of the palm trees are palm tree seedlings, as are the cycads. Palm tree seedlings, cycad seedlings and fern seedlings are available in almost every species listed. Our agaves and cacti are available in all sizes, as are the tropical plants. Stroll through this magical virtual garden and enjoy! ________________ Rolling Thunder Nursery is a small specialty nursery located in USDA zone 8b where we grow the palm trees, palm tree seedlings and ferns with a satellite nursery in the Rio Grande Valley (zone 10) where we grow the agaves and tropical plants. The nursery has been in operation for 12 years, and is managed by Mr. Les Hill, a horticulturist with over 30 years experience in the plant business. Rolling Thunder Nursery sells strictly through the Internet, with occasional open house weekends for local patrons.

After visiting the various areas of the nursery, visit our area for growing supplies. We handle numerous items for enhancing the health and well-being of the plants, and they are all organic. Lastly, don't forget to wander through the gift shop. Lots of items there to consider for the garden or for gifts. Also, Ask the Professionals is an area where you can speak with our professional horticulturist for information on any growing or ethnobotanic question about a plant. ____________ We have many tropical plants, agaves, ferns, palm trees, palm tree seedlings and cycads available that are not presently listed. We're expanding! We are excited to announce that we have obtained seed and stock from South Africa and Australia which we are presently propagating. Expect to see numerous Proteas and Eucalyptus on the listings within the next few months.

Grower's Tip- The best fertilizer to use in container plants is a balanced slow release fertilizer such as Osmocote 14-14-14. It delivers a steady feed for the plant over a 3-4 month period, so as to prevent the plant getting straggly or weak. |
