All sales are paid in advance. We accept PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, checks or money orders (received at our office).
Any discrepancies or concerns about any order must be received by us via email within 48 hours of receipt. All damage incurred during shipping is the responsibility of the shipping agent, not Rolling Thunder Nursery.
All orders are shipped by either USPS Priority Mail (smaller orders) or by Fedex 3-day. We do NOT ship by UPS.
We do not ship internationally.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING

Shipping-

We ship year round. If the weather is cold in your area, we will ship unless we receive specific instructions from you to hold shipment. We ship primarily by USPS Priority Mail (2-3days) or by UPS for larger orders. The shipping costs are calculated automatically when the order is placed. Orders will be shipped from 1 to 2 weeks (depending on the season) after the order has been placed. Also, we try to ship so as to insure the plants are not held up for delivery due to holidays or Sundays. We do not ship internationally, nor can we ship to an APO address.

Handling-

All our plants except the cacti are shipped in plastic bags. We try to keep an adequate amount of soil around the roots, but generally remove some of the soil to save shipping costs. We also regularly prune the plants to minimize their shock of being moved and shipped. The cacti are shipped bare root, wrapped in paper. All the plants are labeled and general instructions on their care is included. The handling costs include the pulling, packaging, packing and delivery of the package to the carrier. Handling costs are automatically calculated when the item(s) are ordered. Generally, we charge $5.00 minimum for handling with $1.00 to $2.00 extra per item (depending on the item).

What to expect:

When we receive an order, we automatically pull the largest plants available in that group. We can do this because we are not in the business of growing larger plants, so it is expedient for us to always sell the largest specimens we have at that time. Although most of our plants are sold as seedlings, the size of that seedling will vary among species. For example, a seedling C. metallica is only about 2” tall with one frond whereas a seedling W.robusta is 10” tall with 3 to 4 fronds. Please understand that we are growing specialty plants, and the sizes available in them can vary significantly.

Palm seedlings vs. 1 gallon/treepot- We define our palm trees and palm tree seedlings by either being 'straps', or having 'true leaves'. If we have listed a palm as a seedling, then it is a 'strap', and typically does not yet have its true leaves (leaves that resemble those when mature). If we list a palm as a 1 gallon or a treepot, that means the palm is large enough and mature enough to have true leaves that show the particular species' look.

When you order your plants, please be prepared for them when they arrive. After 2 to 3 days traveling, the plants will have experienced some amount of stress. They should be attended to immediately upon arrival. You will receive instructions on their care with the plants, but also you should be sure you already have on hand pots and potting soil so that the plants can be re-potted immediately.

Warranties, Guarantees and Liabilities

We warrant all plants to be healthy and true to name to the best of our knowledge when they leave our nursery. We assume no responsibility for the plant after it leaves our direct care and no other warranty is expressed or implied. Any shortages or other defects in the order must be documented within 48 hours of receipt, at which time we will determine appropriate adjustment according to the shortage. Our liability is strictly limited to the amount of the invoice.

All shipments travel at the expense and risk of the buyer. Any damages or losses occurring during transit are the responsibility of the carrier and must be dealt with by the buyer

Once you receive the plant, all responsibility for its health and care is yours. Although we provide advice and guidance for the culture of all our plants, we cannot be responsible for its livability and/or health after it leaves our care.

Disclaimer

Although many of our plants have anecdotal or actual medicinal uses, we sell them strictly for ornamental purposes and strongly advise against imbibing, inhaling or otherwise placing any portion of any of these plants into the body.

We are not responsible for any allergic reactions from the handling of any of our plants. To the best of our knowledge, all of the plants we sell are generally non-allergenic. It is possible that some individuals will have an allergic reaction to certain plants. Please be aware if you have that specific possibility and consult your physician prior to ordering the plants.

Some local laws prohibit growing or importing some plants- It is the buyer’s responsibility to comply with the law.
